You see how hard your child is trying. Still, reading takes forever, homework ends in meltdowns, and teachers say things like “He just needs to focus” or “She will catch up eventually.” It is exhausting and lonely to keep advocating when you are not sure what is really going on.
At Chatter Bug Therapy, we specialize in kids who are:
We look beyond grades and test scores to understand how your child processes sounds, language, and print—so we can finally match support to their unique brain.

Important: Dyslexia and speech difficulties are not a reflection of intelligence or effort. With the right kind of practice, most kids can make meaningful, measurable progress—and start to enjoy learning again.
We combine evidence-based speech therapy, structured literacy approaches for dyslexia, and practical parent coaching—so progress continues at home, not just in the therapy room.
We listen to your story, review teacher reports, and answer your questions. If we are a good fit, we will recommend either a full evaluation or a shorter screening, depending on needs.
We create a personalized plan that can include speech sound therapy, language support, and structured reading/spelling instruction designed for dyslexic learners.
We meet regularly in our kid-friendly space or virtually, track progress together, and give you simple activities you can weave into everyday routines at home.
Still exploring options? Use the consult to gather information before making any commitments.
Every child is different, but parents often tell us they notice:
We track measurable goals and also pay attention to the small wins that matter most to families—like when your child proudly reads a bedtime story to you for the first time.
“Before we started at Chatter Bug, my daughter would crumple up her worksheets and say she was dumb. Now she actually brings books to the car and wants to read signs out loud. Her speech is clearer, her reading is catching up, and she finally believes she is smart—because she is.”
— Mom of a 3rd grader with dyslexia

Our therapy space is warm, playful, and intentionally designed so kids feel safe to take risks with new sounds and reading skills.
Chatter Bug Therapy is led by a licensed pediatric speech-language pathologist with advanced training in dyslexia, structured literacy, and childhood language disorders. We have helped many children move from avoiding reading and speaking to participating more fully in school, family, and friendships.
As a parent, you will always be kept in the loop with clear progress updates and practical ways to support your child’s communication at home—without turning you into their full-time teacher.
Here is what other moms and dads say about working with Chatter Bug Therapy.
“Within a few months, our son went from barely saying a few words to putting together short sentences. The therapist always explained what they were working on and how we could help at home without overwhelming us.”
— Dad of a kindergarten student
“The way reading was taught here finally made sense for our dyslexic son. Everything was broken down into steps and he was never made to feel bad for needing more time. His teacher has noticed a huge change.”
— Mom of a 4th grader
“I was nervous to start therapy because I did not want my child to feel labeled. Instead, she feels celebrated here. Sessions are fun and she is proud of the work she is doing.”
— Mom of a 2nd grader

If you still are not sure whether speech therapy, dyslexia support, or both are right for your child, your free consult is the perfect time to talk it through together.
Many kids with dyslexia also have a history of speech or language challenges, and some children with speech sound disorders later struggle with reading. During your free consult, we will ask about your child’s speech clarity, vocabulary, listening skills, and reading/writing. Based on that conversation, we will recommend an evaluation that can look at both speech and literacy so we do not miss anything important.
We primarily work with children ages 4–12. If your child is slightly younger or older and you feel we may be a good fit, please still reach out—we are happy to let you know if we can help or refer you to another trusted provider.
Yes. Many families choose a mix of in-person and virtual sessions depending on their child’s needs and schedule. Teletherapy can work very well for older children and for reading-focused sessions, especially when parents are nearby to support.
We often work alongside school-based speech therapy, reading specialists, and private tutors. Our role is to provide targeted, consistent intervention and help you coordinate with the rest of your child’s team. During your consult, we can review IEPs or school reports and talk about how our work would fit in.
Coverage for speech therapy varies widely. We can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company and are happy to guide you on what questions to ask. During your free consult, we will talk about fees, payment options, and how to make services as affordable as possible.
